Our Weekend

We had another full weekend of fun. It was homecoming week so we started off Friday with an early school release and a homecoming parade. I love this time of year!! The weather is perfect so we can spend the majority of our weekends outside. After the parade we decided to grab a bite to eat at the Olive Garden (my son's favorite!), take a trip to the park and then go see a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. It was such a cute movie and I highly recommend it!

Saturday started off with a Laser Tag birthday party, in which the Love family totally dominated! :) After the party we just had a chill day. No plans in the evening so we were able to just relax and spend time together....And get ready for more birthday party action on Sunday.

(I didn't have my phone for most of the party, so not really any pics)

To end the weekend, we had another round of birthday parties. This time it was at my sisters house and just good ole family fun. The best kind of fun!! :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! Have a fantastic Monday Friends!! Lots of Love!!! xoxoxo

Five RaNdOm Fact Friday

Here we go with week 4 of Fact Friday. I thought surely it would be hard to keep coming up with little things to share about myself... but I'm still going! I have a notebook of random stuff about me. This has been sort of eye opening and makes me pay attention to things I never really noticed before. I've really enjoyed it. :)

1. When I watch any sporting event I always make an "eeep" sound when anything sudden happens.
2. I LOVE taking baths! In the winter we budget for a higher water bill because I could take 2 a day!!
3. I heart Wild Cherry Pepsi!! I try not to drink pop at all but when I do that's my drink of choice.
4. I'm obsessed with the show White Collar. I didn't start watching it until season 3 and caught up on all the seasons on netflix in like a week!! Matt Bomer is my FAVORITE!! I got my hubby hooked too, so we have little TV date nights. :)
5. I've been married to my husband for 10 years and we have been together for 15!! Yep, that's almost half my life! He's my best friend and I love that we've grown up together and I really fall more in love with him every day. (He is 4 years older than me..just a little free fact) :)

(This pic was taken 2 years ago... We need new pictures!)

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!! Lots of Love!! xoxoxo

A quick DIY - My "cloffice"

I wanted to do a little DIY post on the makings of my "cloffice". I got this idea from one of the bloggers I follow. We live in a smaller home that we call our "Love Shack" and my husband has his office that he works from but I didn't really have my own space. I didn't want to clutter his office with another desk and all the stuff that goes along with it, so when I saw this idea I knew it was perfect for me! We have 2 closets in our entry and really we could condense our junk and put one of them to good use. Our house has a very open floor plan so it was a perfect location for a cloffice but it does mean that I have to keep it cute and clean. ;) I love that! This is going to be a very basic DIY, but if you have any questions about anything you see just send me a comment. :)

I started by just cleaning out the closet really good. Then the hubby measured so we could get our Home Depot trip on... There, I bought the wood for the desk and the peg board for the wall, some paint and spray paint.

I painted the walls and the desk top all the same. I did leave the top shelf the natural wood color because I like how it looked with our floor. I still have a little trim painting to do, but we are repainting all of the trim in our house so I'm waiting til then. :)

Next it was just really decorating....
*I picked the lamp up at Home Depot
*The calendar I printed from The Vanilla Tulip Blog I follow
*The little basket that is hanging is from Southern Living
*5.1.7 jars are from Michaels (our anniversary is May 17)
*I got the fake flowers from Walmart and put them in an old olive oil glass jar with some water to make them appear real
*The magazine basket on the floor is from Thirty-one.
*I had 2 old stools from Walmart and spray painted it a cool light aqua color that goes good with the rest of our decor.

That's it in a nutshell! Like I said before, if you have any questions or comments I would love to hear them!!
Happy Hump Day friends!! xoxoxo

Five RaNdOm Fact Friday

Happy Friday friends!! It's been a really good week in the Love shack. :) I hope you all have had a wonderful week too! Here's another round of Fact Friday. Enjoy!!!

1. I love taking pictures and have recently started taking classes on how to become better at it. I love how you can capture a happy moment and then relive it over and over. So stay tuned for lots of picture posting!! ;)

2. I still go into my sons room at least once a night to check on him. I know it's crazy, right?! I have the chance to sleep a full night and I don't. I have done this since he was born.... 8 years ago!!

3. I won't let anyone else load the dishwasher. I have a method to fitting as much as I possibly can in there and no one can work the puzzle like me. This does not upset my husband at all!!

4. I have to fall asleep with the TV on.

5. I love to sing in the car. Like music up loud, thinking I'm the next American Idol. It's a major stress reliever for me. My son also joins in when he is in there with me.

I hope by now you are getting to know me a little better. I am really enjoying being a part of this blogging world and letting people see a peek inside our lives. Any comments are enjoyed and I would love to get to know other bloggers out there!
Have a Fabulous weekend friends!! Lots of Love! xoxoxo

Dear Jayden

I was sitting at home a couple days ago and started thinking about things. Wondering if I tell my son how much he means to me and how special I think he is enough. I mean, I know he knows I love him and we say it a billion times a day, but I wonder if he completely gets it. Jayden is much like me, in that his love language is words of affirmation. I need to hear nice things and when kind words are spoken to me it makes my day. I wanted to sit down and write Jayden a little letter letting him know some of the reasons I think he is special. I knew that when he read it he would feel so loved, and just the thought of the way it would make him feel made me smile. I always write him I Love You's in his lunch or on his marker board, but this was going to be about his great qualities.

So here is my letter:

Dear Jayden,

I love you and wanted to tell you some of the reasons I think you are special.
1. You are SO sweet!
2. You are helpful, even without being asked.
3. You are super smart.
4. You are fun to be around.
5. You make me smile.
6. You hug me even when people are around.
7. You have such a love for animals.
8. You are a hard worker.
9. You can make friends wherever you go.
10. You have the BIGGEST heart!!
That's just 10 of the million reasons I think you are special!
Love, Mommy

I kept it simple and sweet. Watching him read it and the reaction I got (hugs and kisses) makes me want to write a million more letters! He even said, "mom, do you mean all of that?" Which made me tear up because I really thought he knew that I thought all those things. Moral of the story.... Tell your kiddos often how special they are and how much you love them. Point out specific things. It's those things they will remember and will shape them into loving, caring young people.

Do you have any special things you do to let your kiddos know just how awesome they are? If so, I'd love to hear!

Lots of Love friends!! xoxoxo
